On January 10, 2021, the Head of the Educational and Experimental Laboratory of the Department of Experimental Physics of the School of Physics, Borys Valiiov, passed away.

Borys Valiiov’s life journey was long and closely connected with Karazin University. He devoted his life to the development of Ukrainian science.

Together with the staff of the Department of Experimental Physics of the School of Physics. he developed and created, as well as improved more than 400 lecture demonstrations from different sections of general physics, which are introduced into the educational process of the School and the University.

In co-authorship, he published over 70 scientific publications on methodology of educational lecture experiment in Ukraine, in the near and far abroad.

He was an advisor of 38 student term papers and diplomas, 5 scientific papers at the MAS and more than 30 ones at the Minor Karazin University.

He was a member of the School of Physics Council, actively participated in career guidance work among students of secondary schools of Kharkiv and Kharkiv region.

Borys Valiiov was an outstanding scientist, high skilled professional, wise, open and sympathetic person, whose hard work and responsibility inspired sincere respect.

In the memory of everyone who knew Borys Valiiov and worked with him, he will always remain a wonderful and kind person.
