We are deeply saddened to announce that Anatolii Sirenko, a physicist, widely known and respected among scientists, Merited Professor of Karazin University, passed away on January 5, 2021. He was 90.

Anatolii Sirenko’s entire career was connected with the University. For more than 25 years, he headed the Department of Solid State Physics of the School of Physics, ensuring successful development of all scientific areas initiated by the founder of the Department, Professor Borys Pines.

Anatolii Sirenko's activity was fruitful and multifaceted. He was a very scholarly person, had encyclopedic knowledge, which he generously shared with colleagues and his students.

Anatolii Sirenko was a kind, sensitive man with high moral qualities.

The Karazin University community mourns the irreparable loss.
