Artist and member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Nina Verbuk, has passed away. The university extends its condolences.
On July 12, at the age of 76, artist and member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, a kind, sincere, generous, and warm-hearted person, Nina Semenivna Verbuk (10.06.1949 – 12.07.2025), passed away.
Nina Semenivna was well-known and respected by many art lovers for her extraordinary talent, reflected in her radiant and life-affirming works, filled with deep philosophical meaning.
She leaves behind a significant creative legacy. Her paintings were exhibited at numerous art shows and are kept in many museum and private collections.
She generously donated her personal collection to museums in Kharkiv and the region. In 2019, she presented a large selection of her vibrant paintings to V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
She also founded two creative awards named after A. F. Lunyov (in honor of a Karazin University graduate, renowned teacher, museologist, and founder of the Parkhomivka Art Museum). These awards were established for students with the best presentations at the All-Ukrainian Local History Conference of Young Scholars (2014) and the All-Ukrainian “Lunyov Readings” Conference (2011), both held annually at the university.
Her paintings and graphic works were repeatedly exhibited at the university in the Henrik Semiradsky Art Gallery, at the School of History, and in the exhibition hall of the Central Scientific Library. She generously shared her artwork, and her pieces continue to adorn the university’s spaces.
