The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, visited Karazin University, where he held a series of meetings aimed at improving the training of specialists in international relations and diplomacy. From now on, students of the relevant fields will have the opportunity to undergo internships and practical training at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both in Ukraine and abroad.
As Karazin University prepares highly qualified professionals, this opportunity will provide invaluable experience for our international relations students, allowing them to acquire the necessary skills for their future careers even during their studies. The relevant documents will be signed soon.
During the visit, the Minister met with the university administration, led by Rector Tetyana Kaganovska, as well as with the administration of the Education and Research Institute "Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business." The Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, also participated in the meeting.
Representatives of the "Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business," along with its director, Mykola Pysarevskyi, presented their activities, emphasizing educational and scientific achievements and projects implemented within the institute’s extracurricular activities.
The Minister's discussion with international relations students and the university’s faculty was lively and candid. Andriy Sybiha emphasized the importance of engaging young professionals in diplomatic service and expanding internship opportunities for students both in Ukraine and at diplomatic missions abroad.
Karazin students asked the Minister questions about university cooperation directions, the enhancement of student training, Ukraine’s foreign policy, and the key values and qualities that a diplomat should possess.
"For diplomacy to be strong, there must be strong professionals — strong individuals who embody in their profession the knowledge, worldview, and principles that are cultivated in your educational institution. This includes awareness of our national interests and an understanding of Ukraine’s significance," noted Andriy Sybiha.
Rector Tetyana Kaganovska also emphasized the importance of high-quality training for qualified diplomatic personnel. She pointed out that the university’s programs are structured to provide students with as much practical experience as possible. In turn, Oleh Syniehubov stated that there are currently several projects between the regional administration and Karazin University aimed at improving the training of international relations specialists.
We sincerely thank the country's leadership, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and its head, for their attention to educational initiatives and their willingness to cooperate! We look forward to further developing this partnership, which will contribute to the training of highly qualified international relations specialists and strengthen Ukraine’s position on the international stage.
