Received Equipment for the Project "UEPA VR/AR Laboratory: Advancing Immersive Technologies in Higher and Vocational Education in Ukraine"
The Education and Research Institute "Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy" (UIPEA) has received equipment for its VR/AR studio as part of the project "VR/AR Laboratory at UIPEA: Advancing Immersive Technologies in Higher and Vocational Education in Ukraine." This initiative is funded by the Romanian Kronospan Foundation under the International skill.ED.
The project aims to establish modern educational platform for higher and vocational education. It will enhance the research activities of UIPEA faculty, engage students and educators in this process, and facilitate professional development, collaboration, international partnerships, and the acquisition of advanced VR/AR skills.
The laboratory will provide a unique, innovative environment housed in specially prepared facilities at the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies at UIPEA. Equipped with state-of-the-art VR/AR devices, the lab will enable the development and presentation of VR/AR content, offering expanded opportunities for studying technological processes and organizing virtual thematic research for educators and students.
The Kronospan Foundation has financed the acquisition of specialized equipment for the lab, totaling €7,215. The equipment includes:
- 5 sets of Meta Quest 3 VR headsets
- A workstation PC for creating virtual environments
- An Acer Nitro 5 laptop
- Additional accessories for the VR headsets
The project was developed by experts from the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies at UIPEA in collaboration with:
- Denys Borysenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Food Technologies, Light Industry, and Design
- Roman Nesterenko, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at Karazin University
With the active support of Denys Kovalenko, Director of UIPEA at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, co-financing was provided for equipment procurement, and renovations are being completed for the dedicated VR/AR studio, where classes will be conducted using the new equipment.
