Open Masters Games 2026: Summary of Results
From February 6 to 14, 2026, Open Masters Games took place in Abu Dhabi. Overall, more than 21,000 athletes from 144 countries competed in 38 sports across age categories ranging from 30 to 90 years old.
The “Ukraine Masters 65+” 7-a-side football team, having won all their matches — even against younger opponents — became the champions of the tournament.
This marks the team’s 23rd victory in 26 prestigious veteran tournaments in football, futsal, and mini-football since 2005, held around the world: from Norway to New Zealand, and from Japan to the Hawaiian Islands.
Ukraine Masters is currently the most successful veteran team in the world in team sports.
Since the team’s founding, its captain and manager has been Oleksandr Luhanskyi, a leading engineer at the University’s Digital Space Development Center.
The recruitment of the strongest players in their age category and the team’s equipment were financially supported by the Kharkiv Regional Football Association.
