New Master's Educational Program “Quantum Technologies and Quantum Computing”

Dear undergraduate students of technical and natural science specialties and representatives of IT companies!
V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University invites you to join the new second-level higher education master’s program “Quantum Technologies and Quantum Computing”, starting from the 2025/2026 academic year.
The program is interdisciplinary and combines educational components from two specialties — F3 “Computer Science” and E6 “Applied Physics and Nanomaterials.” This combination allows for the training of highly qualified specialists capable of working effectively both in fundamental research and in modern technological sectors.
The program is aimed at preparing master’s students with in-depth knowledge in the fields of quantum physics, programming, mathematics, and information technology. Graduates will gain competencies necessary for developing quantum algorithms, designing and utilizing quantum computing systems and software for fundamental theoretical physics tasks, as well as conducting applied research involving quantum processors, sensors, networks, and security technologies.
The goal of the program is to develop the ability for interdisciplinary thinking, analytical approaches to complex problems, and the application of modern quantum solutions in various professional contexts. The curriculum combines theoretical and practical training, including laboratory work, course projects, participation in research projects, and opportunities for academic mobility, internships at scientific centers, and cooperation with leading universities in Ukraine and abroad. The program actively involves practicing experts from scientific institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, international lecturers, and industry representatives.
This program is designed for students who wish to deepen their knowledge and acquire new skills in the field of quantum technologies, as well as for IT professionals looking to enhance their qualifications, update their competencies in line with global technological trends, and expand their career prospects.
The program provides solid preparation for employment in high-tech companies operating in areas such as computational modeling, quantum information systems, cybersecurity, scientific research and development, and the creation of innovative projects. Graduates also have the opportunity to pursue further education at the third (educational and scientific) level.
