Study Visit of Academy of Teaching to Warsaw
From November 18 to 22, 2024, representatives of the Karazin University Academy of Teaching — Olha Vyhovska, Tetiana Holovatenko, and Tetiana Datsenko participated in a study visit to the University of Warsaw School of Education and the Polish-American Freedom Foundation (PAFF).
The visit was organized by Study Tours to Poland and funded by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation (PAFF).
The program was intensive and focused on exchanging experiences in teacher training and implementing modern educational practices. Participants became acquainted with the core principles of the School of Education’s work, particularly its innovative approaches to training future teachers, with a special emphasis on interactive teaching methods.
During didactics classes, participants explored practical approaches to creating a "thinking classroom" — an educational environment that fosters students' critical and creative thinking skills.
Some days of the program included visits to Ukrainian and Polish schools, where educators learned about the mentorship system. Additionally, significant attention was given to the use of portfolios as an effective tool for teachers' professional development, supporting reflection and self-analysis.
The program culminated in an integration seminar, where participants summarized the outcomes and planned future joint initiatives.
This study visit opened new horizons for enhancing teacher education at Karazin University and contributed to the search for innovative solutions in training future educators.
