The Education and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology” Celebrates Its 63rd Anniversary

Today, 21 November 2025, we celebrate the 63rd anniversary of the Education and Research Institute “Schoolof Physics and Technology” — an academic and scientific unit that has been at the forefront of the development of modern physics and engineering technologies in Ukraine.

Since its establishment in 1962, PhysTech has become a centre of fundamental and applied research in areas such as:

• nuclear physics and high-energy physics;

• plasma physics and controlled thermonuclear fusion;

• materials science and nanotechnologies;

• theoretical and computational physics;

• medical physics and radiation technologies.

Over its 63-year history, the Institute has trained more than 4,000 specialists, including renowned researchers, professors at leading universities worldwide, scientists in international laboratories, and experts in high-tech companies.

The educational programmes of PhysTech cover the full cycle of training for research physicists and physics engineers — from the bachelor’s level to postgraduate studies.

Students receive solid mathematical and natural sciences training, study modern experimental and analytical methods, and participate in scientific projects alongside experienced researchers.

Throughout the decades, PhysTech has become a place where fundamental knowledge, innovation, and scientific culture come together.

It is here that a new generation of physicists is shaped — professionals capable of addressing the complex scientific and technological challenges of today.
