Karazin University Scholars Among the Leaders of Nationwide University Research Competitions by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has approved the list of winners of university research competitions, including the main competition for fundamental and applied research, the competition for young scientists, and a special support instrument for frontline higher education institutions.

According to the selection results, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has confidently ranked among the national leaders.

In the main competition, Karazin University secured 13 winning research projects, taking second place among all universities in Ukraine.

In addition, the University became one of the leaders in the special competition for frontline higher education institutions: 9 research projects by Karazin scholars received support from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. This result also places the University second among all institutions operating under challenging security conditions.

Overall, Kharkiv region emerged as the leading region in terms of the number of supported projects, once again highlighting the resilience and strong scientific potential of the Kharkiv academic community, which continues to work and develop despite the challenges of war.

It is important to note that the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has introduced a dedicated support instrument for frontline and border universities for the first time.

For the Karazin academic community, this represents significant systemic support for research and recognition of the resilience of its scholars, who maintain high research activity in frontline Kharkiv, contributing to the strengthening of Ukraine’s defense capacity and scientific resilience. Funding for the winning projects will begin in January 2026 in accordance with budget legislation.
