The Bulletin of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Series “Geology. Geography. Ecology” has been included in the list of Ukrainian scholarly professional journals recognized as winners of the competitive selection conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and recommended for financial support for 2026–2027.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced the results of the competitive selection of Ukrainian scholarly journals indexed in the international scientometric databases Scopus and/or Web of Science Core Collection. This selection became the first institutional mechanism introduced by the Ministry to provide systematic support to academic journals that demonstrate stable quality indicators, adherence to the principles of academic integrity, and a high level of international integration.

Participation in the competition was open to journals that have been indexed in Scopus and/or Web of Science Core Collection for at least two consecutive years and hold Category “A” status in the List of Scholarly Professional Publications of Ukraine. Applications were evaluated by the MES competition committee in accordance with an approved methodology, taking into account the journal’s impact indicators (quartile, percentile), compliance with editorial policy and publication ethics, adherence to academic integrity principles, inclusion in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), as well as the provision of free publication opportunities for Ukrainian researchers.

Financial support will be provided over a two-year period in equal installments of UAH 350,000 per year. The funds will be allocated to the development of open access, editorial and technical support, translation and editing of English-language materials, implementation of software solutions, and professional development of editors and reviewers.

The inclusion of a Karazin University journal in this list confirms its high academic standards, editorial maturity, and the University’s significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian and international scholarly communication.
