ENS High Scientific Council PhD Award 2026: Call for Applications

The Ukrainian Nuclear Society invites early-career researchers and professionals in the nuclear field who have recently defended their PhD dissertations to take part in the national selection process for nomination to the prestigious ENS High Scientific Council PhD Award 2026. The award is presented annually by the European Nuclear Society (ENS) for the best doctoral thesis in nuclear science and engineering.

Eligible candidates must have obtained their PhD degree no more than 36 months prior to March 2026 and demonstrate highly novel research results, strong practical relevance, and significant potential impact on the development of the nuclear sector.

The winner of the European competition will receive a €2,000 cash prize, while the finalists will be offered free publication of an article in an open-access scientific journal.

To participate in the selection process, applicants are required to submit the following materials in English to the Ukrainian Nuclear Society at info@ukrns.org by February 20, 2026:

• a CV with contact details;

• a copy of the PhD diploma / certificate;

• a letter of recommendation;

• an extended summary of the PhD dissertation;

• a copy of at least one publication related to the PhD topic.

Based on the review of the submitted materials, the Ukrainian Nuclear Society will select one candidate for official nomination from Ukraine to the European Nuclear Society.
