On July 6, the International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT) 2025 concluded with an award ceremony. The Ukrainian team — composed of students from Kharkiv Lyceum No. 161 “Impulse” and Kharkiv Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 27 (HFML 27) — proudly claimed the bronze medal!

The team was coached by Zakhary Maizelis, Honored Teacher of Ukraine and Professor at Karazin University, along with his students, Illya Khoroshko and Anya Belyaeva, both from the School of Physics.

The team members were:

  • Sofiya Fedoskina (Captain, KhL 161)

  • Maya Dychuk (HFML 27)

  • Oleksandr Uskov (KhL 161)

  • Viktoriya Borziy (KhL 161)

  • Kyrylo Vladyko (HFML 27)

Ukraine continues its winning streak, now extending to eight consecutive years of placing in the tournament (since 2018). Once again, the Ukrainian flag proudly waved in the hands of Kharkiv's young physicists at this international celebration of science.

We look forward to seeing these young tournament warriors in the student lecture halls of Karazin University!
