International Translation Day
Every year on September 30, the world celebrates International Translation Day, honoring those who, through words, build bridges between cultures, countries, and eras.
Karazin University, throughout its long history, has nurtured a whole array of talented translators whose work enriches global culture and science. Among them are Oleksandr Potebnia, Petro Hulak-Artemovsky, Ivan Bilodid, Petro Weinberg, and Vasyl Mysyk. Ivan Franko, whose creative legacy includes significant translations of classical literature, is an honorary doctor of the university.
For many decades, the School of Philology and the School of Foreign Languages at Karazin University have been at the heart of linguistic research and the training of translation professionals. School members and students work daily to perfect their skills, study the latest translation methodologies, expand the horizons of linguistic communication, and open new cultural worlds.
On International Translation Day, we honor the talent and dedication of those who can unite people with words. We congratulate all translators and students who are just beginning their journey in this important field!
