United Nations Day

On October 24, the world celebrates United Nations Day. It was on this day in 1945 that the UN Charter came into force. Ukraine was among the first countries to sign this document and became one of the founding members of the organization.

Karazin University upholds the values of the United Nations and actively contributes to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university’s priorities include not only quality education (Goal 4) but also innovation, partnerships, gender equality, well-being, and environmental awareness. The university’s researchers, faculty, and students bring these principles to life every day through research projects, volunteer initiatives, educational programs, and international cooperation.

In particular, Karazin University:

• develops international partnerships within the framework of Goal 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”;

• supports environmental initiatives aimed at preserving the climate and biodiversity (Goals 13, 14, 15);

• works on projects and initiatives that promote sustainable economic growth (Goal 8), healthcare (Goal 3), and the development of sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11);

• collaborates with local communities and international partners to create new opportunities for achieving gender equality (Goal 5) and social justice (Goal 10).

Sustainable development is not only a global agenda but also the mission of every university that educates the next generation of leaders. We believe that through education, science, and partnership, we can make the world a better place.
