From September 17 to 20th, the Vice-Rector overseeing the activities of the Education and Research Institute "Academy of Teaching" at Karazin University, Liliia Hrynevych, participated in an exchange program on "Teaching Excellence – Empowering Teachers," which took place in Helsinki, Finland, and Tallinn, Estonia.
This educational visit brought together representatives from five Eastern Partnership countries. The program focused on exchanging practices and experiences, as well as discussing the challenges faced by teachers and educators as key participants in educational systems and reforms.
The participants visited the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, the Vikki Teacher Training School of the University of Helsinki, the Finnish National Agency for Education (FNAE), Alppila Upper Secondary School, and Omnia Vocational College. In Tallinn, the agenda included visits to the Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia, Pelgulinna Gymnasium, and several other educational institutions, such as Kindluse School, Peetri School, and the School of Pedagogical Sciences of Tallinn University.
Throughout the intensive program, participants studied advanced practices in Finland and Estonia in teacher training and continuous professional development, initiatives to reform the teacher education model, and discussed priorities for modernizing the teaching profession.
The international experience gained will contribute to the creation and development of a new model of teacher training in Ukraine, taking into account global trends and best practices.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, the Ministry of Education and Research of Estonia, and the European Training Foundation.
