Lecture by Andy Hind on "Crisis Management in Education: Strategies and Approaches"

On March 12, 2025, a lecture by Karazin University's invited professor, Dr. Andy Hind, Head of the Centre for Teacher Education at the University of Warwick (United Kingdom), took place. The lecture was titled "Crisis Management in Education: Strategies and Approaches."
The event was held as part of a series of guest lectures by leading international experts, initiated by the Education and Research Institute "Academy of Teaching."
The event's moderator was Vice-Rector Liliya Hrynevych, who oversees the activities of the Academy of Teaching. In her opening remarks, the Vice-Rector emphasized the importance of interaction and international cooperation in developing effective crisis management strategies in education, especially in conditions of uncertainty.
In his lecture, Dr. Andy Hind presented modern approaches to managing educational institutions during crises. Drawing on research and personal experience, he shared key strategies for ensuring the resilience of educational systems, preparing leaders to respond to challenges, and developing effective crisis management models. Notably, the discussion included insights from the Covid-19 pandemic response, which can be applied to restoring education systems during more complex crises such as war.
The event attracted over 100 participants. The lecture sparked lively interest among attendees — academics, educational managers, and teachers. Participants had the opportunity to ask the speaker questions and discuss practical aspects of implementing the presented strategies.
