410th Anniversary of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy: Karazin University Extends Its Congratulations

15 october 2025 year

Today, the entire Ukrainian academic community celebrates the 410th anniversary of the founding of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy — a unique institution that stands at the origins of the Ukrainian university tradition, the formation of national identity, and the spiritual revival of our state.

The history of the Academy is, in many ways, the history of Ukraine itself — a story of struggle and rebirth, achievements and trials, a continuous pursuit of truth, knowledge, and freedom. The names of its founders — Halshka Hulevychivna, Petro Mohyla, and Petro Sahaidachny — are well known to all who cherish Ukrainian culture and education. The Kyiv-Mohyla Academy has been a source of intellectual energy for generations of thinkers and leaders who have shaped — and continue to shape — the path of Ukraine’s development. Its graduates have become true heralds of enlightenment, humanism, and dignity.

The Karazin University community holds deep respect for the role of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy as the first center of higher education in Ukraine, which served as a model for the creation of later collegiums. Our shared roots, educational traditions, and values form the foundation of profound mutual respect, inspiration for continued collaboration, and unity of efforts for the sake of Victory.

We sincerely rejoice together with you, celebrating the continuity of the academic tradition that unites the past and the future of Ukrainian education and science.
May the years ahead bring further growth and achievements, and may this path be filled with the light of knowledge, inspiration, and faith in the future!
