University Labor Collective Conference
On January 22, the traditional Conference of the labor collective of Karazin University took place. The presidium included the University Rector Tetyana Kaganovska, Dean of the School of Economics Vitalii Diachek, Chair of the primary professional union organization of university employees Anatolii Holtvianskyi, Scientific Secretary of the University Olena Fridman, and Chair of the primary professional union organization of students, postgraduates, and doctoral students of Karazin University Daria Bortnikova.
A minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of Karazin community members who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
As part of the conference, Rector Tetyana Kaganovska delivered a report on the university's activities in 2023. She emphasized the successes and challenges faced by the university, including its leading positions in national and global rankings, sustainable development strategies, an increase in the number of academic degrees among academic staff, growth in the number of university applicants by 2022, expansion of scientific cooperation with domestic and international partners, obtaining a certificate from the international quality management system ISO, and fruitful cultural, educational, and national-patriotic activities, among others.
The Rector discussed the mission, role, and values of the university, as well as the strategic and breakthrough goals of Karazin for 2024. She noted that the university is actively working on expanding the mission of "Education Despite the War" and aims to preserve and modernize the intellectual potential of the region and Ukraine.
Following the voting by members of the labor collective, changes and additions were made to the Collective Agreement between the administration and the university's labor collective, and the plan of Comprehensive Measures for Labor Protection and Safety for 2024 was approved.
Additionally, a new member was elected to the University Council – Senior Lecturer of the Department of Public Administration and State Service of the Institute of Public Administration Oleksii Oleshko.
