Cyber Police warns about scammers
The war in Ukraine has become a breeding ground for the proliferation of fraudulent schemes, exploiting vulnerable emotional state and trust of citizens. Criminals are capable of deceiving children, and pensioners, attempting to dissolve into the depths of the internet, leaving no traces of their crimes.
More than 60% of Ukrainians cannot safely navigate the internet. They often fall into the hands of scammers and willingly part with their money. Among the high-risk groups are the elderly and children. However, scammers manage to deceive even experienced internet users.
Moreover, the cunning of these scammers goes beyond the already familiar scams to Ukrainians, resulting in the emergence of new methods of deceit. The Department of the Cyber Police of the National Police of Ukraine has disclosed the most common fraud schemes and essential safety guidelines to help expose these swindlers.
