Karazin University Representatives Honored on the Occasion of World Tourism Day and Tourism Day in Ukraine

On September 25, 2025, a ceremonial event dedicated to the celebration of World Tourism Day and Tourism Day in Ukraine was held in Kharkiv.

The celebration was organized by the Regional Municipal Institution “Kharkiv Organizational and Methodological Center for Tourism” with the support of the Kharkiv Regional Council and the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

The event gathered leaders and employees of leading institutions in culture, science, and education, representatives of industry, public organizations, local authorities, and self-government bodies involved in the development of local tourism in the Kharkiv region.

On this festive occasion, the best professionals of the regional tourism sector were honored with awards.

Among them were representatives of Karazin University:

• Olha Vovk, Deputy Director of the P. T. Tronko Center for Ukrainian Studies and Local History, lecturer at the Department of Historiography, Source Studies, and Archaeology of the School of History, received a Letter of Appreciation from the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Council;

• Hanna Haponenko, Associate Professor at the Department of World Politics, Diplomacy, and Travel  Business of the Karazin Institute of International Relations and Travel Business, received a Letter of Appreciation from the Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration;

• Natalia Aksyonova, Acting Head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science, and Cultural Studies, received an Honorary Certificate from the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration;

• Iryna Skryl, Associate Professor at the Kostiantyn Niemets Department of Socio-Economic Geography and Regional Studies of the School of Geology, Geography, Recreation, and Travel Business, received an Honorary Certificate from the Regional Municipal Institution “Kharkiv Organizational and Methodological Center for Tourism.”
