On April 24, 2025, the regional forum “Innovative Kharkiv Region: People — Education — Business — Governance” was held in Kharkiv. The event served as a platform for strategic dialogue between representatives of business, education, civil society organizations, and government.

Despite daily shelling, infrastructure destruction, and a challenging security situation, the Kharkiv region remains a key economic, scientific, and technological center of Ukraine. The region shapes the country's development trajectory thanks to its strong potential in mechanical engineering, high-tech industries, IT, and creative sectors.

As part of the forum, a panel discussion was held focusing on the role of education in rebuilding and transforming the economy. Participants discussed whether the regional education system is capable of preparing the specialists that businesses need for recovery and growth.

Karazin University was represented at the panel by:

  • Anatolii Babychev — Vice-Rector of Karazin University

  • Volodymyr Rodchenko — Director of the Karazin School of Business

  • Eduard Rubin — Director of the Karazin University Science Park

The discussion was moderated by Pavlo Sheremeta, Professor of Practice at the Kyiv School of Economics and Ambassador of the “BizON” project.

Forum participants discussed the following key topics:

  • The Economy of Victory: education, innovation, and governance as a foundation for the future

  • Education for Business: retraining, development of entrepreneurial skills

  • Investing in People: private initiatives and partnerships with universities

  • Education Transformation: dual education, new learning models, demand-driven education

  • The Role of Private Initiative and International Support in Education

  • The Power of Partnership: synergy of education, business, and government for sustainable development

We extend our gratitude to the speakers, moderator, organizers, partners, and all participants for their productive contributions and inspiration to build a strong, innovative future for the Kharkiv region!

The event was held within the framework of the “BizON — Promotion, Transformation, and Inclusive Development of Business Education in Selected Regions of Ukraine” project, implemented with the support of UNDP in Ukraine and funded by the Government of Japan.
