On October 16–17, 2025, in Sofia (Bulgaria), lecturers and researchers of Karazin University took part in the international conference “The Other Face of War”, organized by the Institute of Historical Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
Associate Professor Serhii Strashniuk, from the Department of Modern and Contemporary History at the Faculty of History, served as a member of the conference’s organizing committee.

Professor Dmytro Mykolenko, from the Department of Modern and Contemporary History, Director of the Marin Drinov Center for Bulgarian and Balkan Studies — “The Russo-Turkish War of 1877–1878 in the Commemoration of the Kharkiv Press (Late 19th – Early 20th Century)”.
During working meetings with the Academy’s administration, the participants discussed prospects for further cooperation within the framework of the publication of the “Drinov Collection”, as well as the implementation of other joint scientific projects between Karazin University and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
