Karazin University Celebrates Radio, Television, and Communications Workers’ Day

16 november 2025 year

November 16 is Radio, Television, and Communications Workers’ Day — a celebration honoring those who give us the daily opportunity to hear, see, and know more: journalists, editors, camera operators, technicians, and communications specialists. They ensure one of the fundamental rights of citizens — the right to access information.

The history of this holiday dates back to November 16, 1924, when the first Ukrainian radio program was broadcast in Kharkiv. Since then, this day has symbolized the birth of Ukrainian radio, and later the entire media industry, which today unites television, online media, and communications professionals.

Communication is an invisible thread connecting us with loved ones and the world. It bridges distances, supports us in difficult moments, and helps convey what is so important: “Hello. Everything is fine. We are alive.” Media and communications workers keep Ukraine in the information rhythm, deliver the truth, and counter misinformation even under the challenging conditions of war.

Karazin University makes a significant contribution to the development of the Ukrainian media space. Here, journalists and media specialists are trained, gaining not only knowledge but also practical experience through internships, including work in the university’s own media studio.

We sincerely congratulate all professionals on their special day! We wish you creative inspiration, bright ideas, and boundless energy for new achievements.
