From February 24 to 28, 2025, representatives of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Pylyp Kuznetsov and Valeriia Trusova, visited the leading University Medical Center (UMCG) and the Particle Therapy Research Center (PARTREC) in Groningen, the Netherlands.

A large UMCG team, led by Professor Philip Elsinga (UMCG), Professor Alexander Herbershagen (PARTREC), and Oleksandra Ivashchenko, demonstrated the full cycle of nuclear medicine — from the production of radioisotopes to their clinical application.

During the visit, a joint project proposal was developed and submitted, including the acquisition of equipment for preclinical research and a one-year training program for Karazin University staff at the University Medical Center Groningen. The discussions also covered further cooperation in research, infrastructure, and capacity building.

Karazin University expresses its gratitude to its partners for the in-depth discussions and continues to work actively on ensuring the priority areas defined by the state.

The business trip was funded by the European Commission within the framework of the NURECAB project GA#101173510.
