The Center for Continuing Education and the Department of Ukrainian Language of the School of Philology at Karazin University organized a scientific and practical seminar-training titled “Educational Discourse: Language-Communicative and Innovative Competence of the Teacher of Ukrainian as the State Language” for educators from the municipal institutions “Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 77 of the Kharkiv City Council” and “Center for Children's and Youth Creativity No. 4 of the Kharkiv City Council.”
During the opening of the event, Acting Director of the Institute for Continuing and Distance Education, Mykhailo Tatarynov, emphasized its practical significance for the implementation of daily innovative educational and pedagogical activities by teachers and managerial staff of general secondary and extracurricular education institutions, as well as for the realization of the educational goals of the Comprehensive Program “Development and Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language in Kharkiv Region for 2022–2025.”
Associate Professors of the Department of Ukrainian Language — Yuliia Kalashnyk, Inna Litvinova, and Halyna Hubarieva — engaged participants in interactive practical sessions focused on mastering modern Ukrainian: current legal and regulatory documents; features of Ukrainian pronunciation; euphony tools of the Ukrainian language; formation of demonyms from geographical names; numeral constructions in business communication; types of lexical errors; challenging cases of stress placement; forms of male and female names and patronymics; and preparing students for intellectual competitions, tournaments, and participation in the Junior Academy of Sciences (MAN).
These innovative methods contribute to the modernization of language competence, promoting the professional image and career development of practicing teachers and education administrators.
The organizers addressed the current questions of subject teachers, methodologists, and extracurricular activity leaders.
At the end of the seminar-training, participants received certificates of professional development, aligned with their individual objectives and the “Strategic Goals and Directions of Karazin University until 2030” as a socially oriented institution of higher education.
