Karazin University Representatives Participate in the Final EURIZON Project Meetings

On March 27–28, the final meetings of the EURIZON project organizers took place in Brussels. The ninth work package of the project focused on financial support for scientists who continue their research in Ukraine. Out of more than 700 applications, the scientific committee selected 65 projects across various fields, which received a total funding of €4.5 million. Scientists from Karazin University successfully carried out six projects within this initiative.

Karazin University representatives participated in the event, including in-person attendees. Sofiia Baletska, a student of the School of Physics, and Mariia Lebedieva, a PhD student of the same school, shared their experiences of participating in the project. Professor Ihor Hirka from the Institute of Physics and Technology took part in a panel discussion titled "How Can Europe Support the Strengthening of Scientific Infrastructure and Institutions in Ukraine?"

Members of the European Parliament who attended the event emphasized the urgent need for the EU to enhance support for scientists continuing their work in Ukraine.
