Karazin University Representatives Participate in the Training Workshop "Features of Ukrainian Researchers’ Participation in Horizon Europe Program Competitions"
On December 2, 2024, Vice-Rector of the University Borys Samorodov and Deputy Head of the International Relations Office Roman Nesterenko attended the training and practical event "Features of Ukrainian Researchers’ Participation in Competitions of the Horizon Europe Program." The event was organized by experts from the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine of the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NRFU) at Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav, home to a national contact point for the New European Bauhaus Initiative.
Participants included representatives of higher education institutions, research organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, governmental and local authorities, NGOs, and others interested in opportunities provided by the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe.
Igor Taranov, Head of the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, presented success stories under the program, highlighting the project HEOinUA–101132682. This project represents the Horizon Europe Office in Ukraine, which has been successfully implemented for over a year under the NRFU.
The event featured a comprehensive program, including:
- An overview of the Horizon Europe program;
- Legal and financial aspects of participation;
- Opportunities through the Funding and Tenders Portal;
- Grant opportunities for businesses within Horizon Europe;
- Options for Ukrainian researchers under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions component.
Olesia Skliarenko, Head of the National Contact Point for the New European Bauhaus Initiative, shared insights on this direction and the work of the contact point.
The hybrid-format event brought together nearly 300 participants. Attendees in Pereiaslav included representatives from institutions such as Mykola Gogol Nizhyn State University, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, A. S. Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University, Izmail State Humanities University, Donbas State Pedagogical University, Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, and others from academia, government, business, and civil society.
