Karazin University Launches Professional Development Courses for Teachers and School Leaders
On 28 November 2025, Karazin University launched a new cycle of professional development courses for teachers and educators of Ukrainian language and literature, English, history, civic education, geography, primary education, as well as for teacher-organizers, social pedagogues, and heads of preschool institutions, gymnasiums, lyceums, and vocational and professional pre-higher education institutions that provide general secondary education.
Participants represent educational institutions of Kharkiv’s Industrialnyi, Kyivskyi, Novobavarskyi, and Osnovianskyi districts, two cities of oblast significance in the Kharkiv region, as well as the cities of Odesa and Sievierodonetsk (currently operating in evacuation).
Course Format and Educational Approach
The professional development programmes include lectures, laboratory sessions, practical classes, and training workshops, taking into account the specific features of organising the educational process within the New Ukrainian School for Grades 1–8 and the structure of learning outcomes assessment.
Instructors delivering the courses will devote particular attention to the challenges associated with effectively preparing senior students for the 2026 National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) and its certification tasks.
Expert Instructors and Partner Institutions
To ensure high-quality training, the Institute for Continuing Education has engaged leading academic staff and practitioner-teachers from the Department of Ukrainian Language and the Department of the History of Ukrainian Literature of the university’s School of Philology.
Permanent external partners have also been involved, including educators from the Institute of State Building and Local Government of the National Academy of Legal Sciences, and municipal educational institutions such as:

Opening Session
The introductory session, conducted by Mykhailo Tatarinov, Director of the Institute for Continuing Education, focused on ensuring the safety and well-being of participants, clarifying the specifics of following the course schedule, and addressing questions from educators. The training programme will continue until 15 December 2025.
