Karazin University impresses: Being First in Scientific Discoveries

The University has always brought together extraordinary individuals who made significant contributions to science and public life, becoming pioneers. This has been the case since its founding.
Did you know, for example, that Johann Gut, a physicist, mathematician, and astronomer who taught at the university, was the first in the world to use the term "telephone" to refer to an acoustic system at the end of the 18th century?
Also, physicist Afanasiy Stoykovych (who served as rector of the university in 1807–1809 and 1811–1813) published the world's first scientific work on meteorites in Kharkiv.
We are confident that among today's Karazin students, there are many individuals who are on the verge of important discoveries that will make a significant contribution to science, national defense, and the reconstruction of our country!
