Karazin University Extends Greetings on Surgeon’s Day

Every year on the third Saturday of September, Ukraine celebrates Surgeon’s Day — the professional holiday of those whose work requires exceptional skill, determination, and unwavering dedication to saving lives.

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University takes pride in the fact that our School of Medicine lays the foundations of excellence for future surgeons, actively develops through cooperation with leading medical institutions, and strives to educate doctors of a world-class level. Founded in 1804, the University has become a cradle of knowledge for thousands of outstanding medical professionals who have brought fame to Ukrainian medicine.

The profession of a surgeon carries special weight today — in times of war, when thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians suffer injuries that require urgent surgical care. Under these extremely difficult circumstances, surgeons are the ones who bring people back to life, giving them a chance for recovery and healing.
