Delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany Visited Karazin University

On August 30, 2025, Karazin University was visited by a delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany led by H.E. Martin Jäger, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine. The delegation also included Robert Preße, Deputy Defense Attaché of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine. The visit took place with the participation of Tetyana Havrysh, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine.
The guests were welcomed by Rector Tetyana Kaganovska, Vice-Rectors Anatolii Babichev and Anton Panteleimonov, as well as Serhiy Zhadan, Honorary Doctor of Karazin University.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the university’s strategic directions of development, its social mission, and its role in preserving the cultural heritage of Kharkiv and the region.
“Each such meeting is of great importance to us. We are working to preserve our future, thinking about students here in Kharkiv so that they choose our university and remain in the city. This is service to society, our social mission,” emphasized Rector Tetyana Kaganovska.
In his remarks, Mr. Jäger highlighted the symbolic nature of the visit:
“My first visit in Ukraine took place here in Kharkiv and specifically at Karazin University. And today, as the time comes to bid farewell to my position as Ambassador, I am once again here. This is my last visit in this capacity, but certainly not my last visit to Ukraine. I will continue to do everything possible for Ukraine’s victory.”
Karazin University expresses its gratitude to Mr. Martin Jäger for his unwavering support and looks forward to further strengthening Ukrainian-German educational and cultural ties.
