Karazin University and Kharkiv City Council Signed a Memorandum on Cooperation in the Sphere of Veteran Policy

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the Kharkiv City Council have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the implementation of veteran policy. The document envisions uniting the efforts of the city, the university, and the public in order to support veterans, promote their social integration, professional retraining, and employment.

The official signing ceremony took place with the participation of Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, representatives of the City Council, University Rector Tetyana Kaganovska, Vice-Rector Anatolii Babichev, and representatives of veteran organizations of Kharkiv.

Mayor Ihor Terekhov emphasized: “This memorandum opens a new path for the retraining and education of veterans. We have been together since the very beginning of the war, and today our task is to ensure attention, support, and opportunities for those who defended Ukraine. This is the path of uniting society and moving forward.”

Rector of Karazin University Tetyana Kaganovska stressed the importance of the institution’s mission: “The signing of the memorandum is our contribution to the formation of a new culture of gratitude and responsibility towards veterans. We strive for the university to become a space of adaptation, development, and new opportunities for those returning to civilian life. This includes retraining, psychological support, and cooperation with employers.”

The memorandum provides for joint work in the areas of education, social integration, and employment of veterans, as well as the development of research in the field of veteran policy.

Kharkiv proves that the strength of the city lies in the unity of the community, authorities, and education for the sake of a strong and socially responsible Ukraine.
