On November 18, 2024, Karazin University launched professional development courses for the third group of educators in basic and complete general secondary education, as well as for instructors from vocational education institutions and professional pre-tertiary institutions providing full general secondary education. Participants included teachers and lecturers of Ukrainian language and literature, mathematics (algebra, calculus, geometry), physics, astronomy, biology and ecology, history (Ukrainian and world history), German language, foreign literature, technology, physical education, and social pedagogy.

The participants represent educational institutions of various types from four districts of Kharkiv, two settlement councils, one city council in a rural district of Kharkiv Oblast, two state vocational education institutions, and two professional pre-tertiary institutions from Kharkiv and the Kharkiv Oblast Council, as well as displaced institutions from Sievierodonetsk in Luhansk Oblast.

The introductory session, led by Mykhailo Tatarynov, Director of the Center for Postgraduate Education, familiarized attendees with the specifics of the educational process in the professional development courses. This included practical and laboratory work, teacher training sessions (including those based on model programs for students of grades 5, 6, and 7 under the "New Ukrainian School" initiative), safety and occupational health instructions adapted to wartime conditions, and participation in an initial evaluation.

Teachers and instructors received comprehensive answers to pressing questions on the implementation of formative assessment, the use of differentiated approaches in evaluating students’ performance in primary school, diversifying work with grade 11 (12) graduates during preparation for the 2025 National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) in various subjects, and strategies for addressing learning losses in online lessons.

The educational process will be supported by highly qualified lecturers from the faculties of biology, history, mathematics and informatics, physics, and philology. These lecturers are authors of textbooks for general secondary education, trainers of student teams for tournaments and Olympiads, and jury members of relevant intellectual competitions. Additionally, experienced external partners, including practicing teachers and a social pedagogue from municipal institutions "Kharkiv Lyceum No. 51" and "Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 77," will also be involved.

The training program will run until December 9, 2024.
