Karazin University Ranks Second Among Ukrainian Higher Education Institutions in the 2025 Scopus Bibliometric Ranking

The annual ranking of Ukrainian higher education institutions based on data from the Scopus bibliometric database has been published.

According to the results of the 2025 Scopus ranking, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University holds second place. We are maintaining and strengthening our position in the field of higher education and research!

The ranking was compiled based on the results of bibliometric monitoring of scientific and publishing activity in Ukraine using data from the SciVerse Scopus database as of May 2025.

Scopus continuously indexes over 30,000 scientific periodicals and non-periodical publications across technical, medical, and humanities disciplines. The ranking is based on citation metrics of scientific articles published by educational institutions or their specialists. Ukrainian universities are ranked by the Hirsch index — a quantitative indicator based on the number of scientific publications and their citation counts.
