Karazin University at the Center of Europe’s Quantum Revolution

The Education and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has officially become a partner in the large-scale international project European Quantum Academy.

This initiative won the prestigious European Commission competition DIGITAL-2025-SKILLS-08-QUANTUM-ACADEMY-STEP and will be implemented during 2026–2029.

What does this mean for Karazin students and faculty?

Thanks to this partnership, Master’s students of the educational program “Quantum Technologies and Quantum Computing” will gain access to the high-tech world, including:

  • Grant support: funding for education and activities in the field of quantum information.

  • International recognition: scholarships, prestigious awards, and European-standard diplomas.

  • Mobility opportunities: internships in laboratories of 73 partner universities across Europe.

  • Practical experience: direct access to cloud-based quantum computing and advanced digital infrastructure.

At Karazin University, the project is coordinated by Pylyp Kuznetsov, Director of the Education and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology,” and Andrii Sotnikov, Professor.

Karazin’s goals within the Academy include:

  • creating a unified educational ecosystem — from school students to PhD level;

  • updating curricula in line with global standards;

  • strengthening Ukraine’s technological sovereignty;

  • establishing direct connections with employers.

Overall, the project brings together more than 100 research institutions and major industrial companies.
