Karazin University Is One of the Largest and Best Universities in Ukraine — Deputy Minister of Education and Science
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykola Trofymenko and Deputy Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Vita Kovalska visited V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University to become acquainted with its educational, research, and innovation infrastructure.
The Rector of the University, Tetyana Kaganovska, presented the interdisciplinary educational and research laboratory KarazinBioMed, which conducts research in biochemistry and biomedical technologies.
The guests were also introduced to the modern adaptive sports and physical culture complex UniverGym, including rehabilitation and adaptive sports sections aimed at supporting physical and psychological recovery for all who need it.
During the working visit, the Deputy Minister was shown the complex of intelligent systems laboratories of the Education and Research Institute of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. The learning process there takes place in safe spaces that meet the requirements for radiation-protective shelters, enabling educational activities to continue safely even during wartime. Currently, renovation works are underway at this location, covering 2,500 square meters and including a radiation-protective shelter. Special attention is being paid to barrier-free access for people with reduced mobility, and the Deputy Minister personally inspected the progress of the works.
Mykola Trofymenko also familiarized himself with the latest educational facilities for medical students: the simulation center of the Department of Dentistry of the School of Medicine II based at the Kharkiv Regional Dental Polyclinic, as well as the Karazin ReHab rehabilitation center. The center’s activities are focused on training specialists capable of providing high-quality medical and rehabilitation care, primarily to military personnel and others affected by the war.
The working visit of Mykola Trofymenko marked an important stage in the development of further joint efforts between the University and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to support innovative educational and research initiatives, strengthen the material and technical base, and ensure the resilience of the higher education institution under wartime conditions.
“Karazin University is one of the largest and best universities in Ukraine. Today, through its infrastructure projects, the University demonstrates its intention to remain in these leading positions. Unique equipment is concentrated here, research of global significance is being conducted, and Ukrainian science is developing here,” the Deputy Minister emphasized.
Karazin University continues to confidently fulfill its mission during the full-scale war, remaining a center of knowledge, innovation, and human potential, and demonstrating resilience, strength, and dedication to serving the people of Ukraine.
