Karazin University Participates in the Discussion of the 2026 Admission Procedure for Higher Education Institutions

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University took part in a working meeting organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, dedicated to the public discussion of the draft Admission Procedure for obtaining higher education in 2026.

The event was held with the participation of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Mykola Trofymenko, representatives of higher education institutions, and the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education, including its Director General Oleh Sharov. Karazin University was represented by Vice-Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Affairs Borys Samorodov.

During the meeting, participants discussed key changes to the admission campaign aimed at simplifying and improving the transparency of procedures for applicants, their families, and admissions committees. In particular, the discussion focused on shortening the admission period for master’s programs, optimizing the number of applications, improving the algorithms for submitting priorities for contract-based places, as well as introducing new incentives for talented youth.

Special attention was paid to maintaining a balance between large universities and regional educational centers, as well as ensuring all legally guaranteed opportunities for applicants from preferential categories.
