Karazin University Joined the Action "Peace Light of Bethlehem"

Karazin University has joined the international annual scout action to celebrate Christmas “Peace Light of Bethlehem”.

On this occasion, members of the Ukrainian Scout Organization “Plast” in the Kharkiv region visited the University and handed over the Light of Bethlehem to Karazinites.

“The tradition of passing the Bethlehem Light dates back decades and is spreading in Ukraine. Plastuns all over the world spread this light and, as a rule, pass it to those who need it the most: in hospitals, churches, in particular, educational institutions, and so on. Because education is our future,” said Iryna Holubeva, Head of the Ukrainian Scout Organization "Plast" in the Kharkiv region.

The University President, Vil Bakirov, thanked the guests: “We all remember the Star of Bethlehem, which announced the birth of Christ. It is very touching to receive the Holy Fire of love, peace, goodness and harmony at the University on such days, on the eve of Christmas.”

The lamp with the Bethlehem Light was placed in the University History Museum, where anyone can light a lamp and pass the Holy Fire to their homes.
