On December 4–6, 2025, the inaugural conference of the Deutsch-Ukrainisches Hochschulnetzwerk (DUHN) program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) was held in Berlin. The large-scale international conference brought together representatives of higher education institutions from Ukraine and Germany. Held as part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of DAAD, the event demonstrated unwavering support for Ukrainian education and science amid the war.

During the poster session and thematic panel discussions, five projects of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University implemented with the support of DAAD were presented.

In particular, the project “Resource-Based Education Cooperation: Laboratory Development (RECLAIM)” was presented by the project coordinators from the Technical University Freiberg Mining Academy (TUBAF) — Dr. Dariia Pilova, Ms. Lena Bussmann Fuentes — and Professor Volodymyr Berest of Karazin University.

The RECLAIM project aims to support Ukrainian universities in developing laboratory infrastructure during wartime, as well as to facilitate the optimization of curriculum development and knowledge transfer.

Within the framework of the project, physical mobility of university researchers is planned for conducting research and developing educational materials in TUBAF laboratories, along with short-term mobility opportunities for students.
