A cascade of innovative scientific, educational, methodological, and outreach activities for lyceum students, their parents, teachers, and the administration of the municipal institution Chuhuiv Academic Lyceum “SYNERGIA” of the Kharkiv Regional Council took place at Karazin University.

This type of cooperation with newly established academic lyceums owned by the regional community is carried out at the university within the framework of the scientific cluster “Karazin University — for Students of Academic and Research Lyceums of the City of Kharkiv and Kharkiv Region.”

A new area of cooperation between Karazin University and regional academic lyceums, including Chuhuiv Academic Lyceum “SYNERGIA,” has been the active involvement of representatives of the parent community of the educational institution, some of whom are alumni of various faculties of the university from previous years.

During the biological, chemical, and medical cascade of the cluster, lyceum students, parents, and teachers of chemistry, biology, and computer science took part in interactive practical sessions at the Karazin BioMed Laboratory.

The Head of the Laboratory, Associate Professor of the Department of Biochemistry at the School of Biology, Senior Research Fellow, and lecturer at the Karazin School of Clinical Biochemistry, Yurii Kot, engaged participants in a practical session focused on working with modern equipment used for creating implants, tissue equivalents, air purification, testing new medicinal and pharmaceutical products, as well as the use of special protective suits to prevent injuries in the context of modern military operations. He also answered questions from lyceum students and parents regarding admission options and the nature of practical training in the laboratory.

The social and humanities cascade of the cluster was held at the University History Museum and conducted by its Director Oleksandr Novak under the topic “Preparation for the National Multidisciplinary Test (NMT) in the History of Ukraine through the origins, history, and present-day activities of Karazin University.”

The final stage of the cluster’s activities involved signing a cooperation agreement, which was signed by Vice-Rector Anatolii Babichev and Lyceum Director Nataliia Lysak.

A distinctive feature of this agreement is the expansion of substantive scientific and methodological cooperation aimed at facilitating the admission of lyceum graduates to obtain higher education at various levels and training specialists from among them in the fields of chemical, food, and agro-industrial industries, medicine, ecology, law, education, social services, international relations, IT and digital technologies, economic analysis, financial and accounting services, management, and engineering.

Anatolii Babichev outlined the priority areas of study at Karazin University and presented lyceum students with commemorative badges reading “I am a Karazinite.”

Nataliia Lysak expressed her gratitude to Rector Tetyana Kaganovska for creating optimal conditions for the creative, cognitive, and practice-oriented activities of the lyceum’s student, teaching, and parent communities.

Summing up the interactive events at Karazin University, Mykhailo Tatarinov, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, addressed practical questions from participants regarding the university’s operations under current conditions, diversification of professional development opportunities for lyceum teachers, and related issues.
