Scientific-Practical Seminar for Educators of Educational Institutions in Saltivsky District of Kharkiv City
On January 4, 2024, a scientific and practical seminar on the topic "Competency-Based Approach in Formative Assessment" took place at the ErmilovCenter of Karazin University. The seminar was organized within the framework of the memorandum of cooperation between V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the Education Department of the Administration of Saltivsky District of Kharkiv City Council, as well as the cooperation agreement with the municipal institution "Kharkiv Lyceum No. 167 of Kharkiv City Council" with the university.
During the event, the main directions of educational, scientific, and didactic activities in 2024 at Karazin University were presented for educators and managerial staff of general secondary education institutions across various domains.
Participants of the event honored the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine and the residents of Kharkiv region with a minute of silence from February 24, 2022.
The practical component of the seminar was conducted by the director of the postgraduate education center, Mykhailo Tatarinov. He elaborated on the principles of a competency-based approach in the educational process to ensure the education of general secondary education recipients in the conditions of formative assessment and the preparation of graduating students for the External Independent Evaluation (EIE) in 2024.
Participants engaged in practical exercises related to the implementation of competency-based approach principles during lessons and in methodological activities in accordance with the requirements of the "New Ukrainian School" principles. Model programs for students of primary school classes were discussed, as well as the effectiveness of organizing and conducting classes in senior profile classes to effectively prepare for the EIE in relevant subjects for 11th-grade graduates.
The director of the lyceum, Oksana Plisko, and seminar participants, who are practicing educators, exchanged thoughts on current issues related to the organization, conduct, and adjustment of modern educational, methodological, and educational activities. They expressed gratitude to the administration of Karazin University for the quality organization of this scientific and practical seminar.
At the end of the seminar, Mykhailo Tatarinov presented participants with certificates of participation in this practice-oriented event.
