Karazin University has joined the implementation of the international project “Resource-Based Education Cooperation: Laboratory Development (RECLAIM)”, which will run from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2029.

The project coordinator is the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology (Germany).

The RECLAIM project aims to support Ukrainian universities in developing laboratory infrastructure during wartime.

The project’s goal is to optimize the development of educational programs and knowledge transfer: Freiberg University of Mining and Technology will provide Ukrainian partners access to advanced laboratory infrastructure that is currently unavailable in Ukraine due to the war.

Through joint development of educational materials and manuals, modern methods of natural science research, which are currently practically inaccessible in Ukraine, will be transferred and integrated into the educational process of higher education institutions.

The project foresees physical mobility of university researchers to conduct research and create educational materials in the laboratories of Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, as well as short-term mobility of students.

Karazin University staff and faculty involved in the project include members from the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics, and Computer Systems, the School of Physics, the Education and Research Institute of Chemistry, the Education and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology,” and the Education and Research Institute of Ecology, Green Energy, and Sustainable Development.

From Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, the project involves the Institutes of Natural, Environmental, and Engineering Sciences: the Institute of Analytical Chemistry, the Institute of Thermal, Environmental, and Resource Technology Engineering, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and Mineral Processing, and the Institute of Glass and Glass Technologies.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under the German-Ukrainian University Network Funding Program (DUHN).
