On March 24, 2025, as part of the Global Biophysics Week, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University hosted the event “Biophysics Week in Ukraine: Experience Across Borders.” The event brought together researchers, students, and specialists to discuss current achievements in biophysics. It served as a platform for knowledge exchange between Kharkiv-based scientists working both in Ukraine and abroad and addressed the current challenges and future prospects of biophysics as a scientific and educational field.

Speakers included alumni of the Department of Molecular and Medical Biophysics of the School of Radiophysics, Biomedical Electronics, and Computer Systems at Karazin University, now working across a wide range of areas — from studying proteins and cells to developing innovative drug delivery methods, analyzing brain activity, and creating smart technologies for medicine.

Participants shared their research journeys, discussed applied aspects of biophysics in medicine and biotechnology, and explored opportunities for international collaboration. The online format enabled scientists across generations to connect, fostering a vibrant environment for scientific communication.

Special attention was given to the future of biophysics in Ukraine, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary approaches, academic mobility, and support for young researchers. The event strengthened the unity of the biophysical community and inspired students toward scientific growth.

We sincerely thank the Biophysical Society for supporting this initiative and look forward to future collaborative projects that will contribute to the advancement of biophysics in Ukraine and around the world.
