Education

Today, education is not only about transferring knowledge but also about creating a space where every child — regardless of gender, physical abilities, or social background — feels that they belong. How can an educational institution become a territory of equality?

Within the framework of the MYRP (Multi-Year Resilience Programme), educators are invited to join a practical multimedia course developed by EdCamp Ukraine that will reshape the way you think about inclusion and equality.

Register via the link.

The course is designed as an interactive journey through a person’s life—from the first steps in kindergarten to choosing a profession.

Course modules:

Me and My Intersections
Exploring the structure of one’s identity, personal biases, and how the war in Ukraine intensifies issues of discrimination.

Childhood “in Captivity” of Stereotypes
How toys, cartoons, and the distribution of family roles shape limitations long before a child goes to school.

Non-Discriminatory Language
Understanding the connection between language and thinking. Feminatives as well as linguistic sexism and androcentrism.

Kindergarten and School
A comprehensive “tour” of the educational environment—from morning exercises to technology classes and the school library. Identifying hidden barriers.

Steps Toward a Profession
How stereotypes influence career choices and how the labor market can become more inclusive.

My Body — Whose Business Is It?
Health and appearance as social constructs. Discussion of gender-based violence, reproductive rights, and accessibility during wartime.

After completing the course, you will be able to:

  • recognize “invisible” discrimination in textbooks, games, and everyday communication;

  • use inclusive language that does not offend or demean;

  • design educational environments based on principles of universal design and accessibility;

  • neutralize the influence of the “hidden curriculum” that imposes false assumptions about children’s abilities;

  • support people with limited mobility and individuals with functional impairments.

The course fully complies with national professional standards (2020–2024) and covers preschool, general secondary, extracurricular, and specialized education levels.

To receive a professional development certificate, participants must successfully complete all six modules and achieve passing scores (at least 69% for each module). In this case, the system will automatically generate your certificate. It will be stored in your professional development account on the Vector platform.

Background information. The course was developed within the projects “Springboard to Equality” (2018–2023) and “Recovery Pathways: Building Community Resilience Based on Egalitarian Approaches” (since 2024), implemented by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, in cooperation with EdCamp Ukraine and in partnership with the Office of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, with financial support from Sweden.

The project is implemented within the Multi-Year Resilience Programme 2024–2026 (MYRP) and funded by Education Cannot Wait, the global UN fund supporting education in emergencies and protracted crises. In Ukraine, MYRP is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
