The School of Medicine II Joined the Educational and Research Cluster “Karazin University — for Students of ‘Metro School’ and ‘Underground School’ Classes in Kharkiv. 2026”

In 2026, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University continues the systematic implementation of activities within the educational and research cluster “Karazin University — for students of educational institutions ‘Metro School’ and ‘Underground School’ of the city of Kharkiv.”

As part of the objectives of the Memorandum of Cooperation between V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the Education Department of the Administration of the Industrial District of the Kharkiv City Council, as well as the Cooperation Agreement between V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and the Municipal Institution “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 85 of the Kharkiv City Council, the Institute of Continuing Education together with the School of Medicine II held practical and training sessions for eleventh-grade students for the first time. The sessions covered primary medical care, dentistry, rehabilitation and recovery medicine, and mental health education.

Opening this important practice-oriented event, the Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, Mykhailo Tatarinov, welcomed the students, teachers, and representatives of the parent community, presented the framework for cooperation with practitioner-academics from the II Medical Faculty, and introduced the faculty leadership.

The Dean of the School of Medicine II, Associate Professor Oleksandr Kozlov, drew attention to admission specifics for relevant bachelor’s degree programs, outlined the use of innovative educational technologies applied by leading faculty members (including simulators, skills training at clinical hospitals, and practice at профильні institutes of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine), and highlighted career prospects and opportunities for self-realization.

Students were invited to register for in-person and online activities launched by the School of Medicine II in 2026 for future physicians.

The Head of the Department of Dentistry, Professor Andrii Nikonov, conducted paired practical sessions on using modern dental equipment to restore hard tooth tissues with photopolymer materials.

Assistant of the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Medicine Bohdan Bielieznoi led a taping workshop using percussion massagers and guided students through a set of physical rehabilitation exercises.

Professor and Head of the Department of Medical Psychology Maiia Savina addressed the fundamentals of maintaining mental health under martial law and conducted relaxation exercises.

At the conclusion of the cluster activities, Mykhailo Tatarinov gathered feedback from the students and answered questions from pupils, teachers, and parents.

Representatives of Kharkiv Lyceum No. 85 expressed their gratitude to the organizers and the administration of Karazin University for the engaging sessions and for supporting a practice-oriented educational process.
