10 october 2025 year

V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University was honored to welcome Mr. Dawid Tomaszewski, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Kharkiv. During his meeting with the University administration led by Rector Tetyana Kaganovska, the parties discussed current areas of Ukrainian-Polish educational cooperation, as well as joint scientific and cultural projects.

Rector Kaganovska emphasized the importance of partnership between Ukrainian and Polish education institutions, which has become especially significant during wartime:

“Today, we stand side by side in defense of European values. The unity and mutual understanding between our nations are not just a connection — they are the key to our shared future,” — stressed Tetyana Kaganovska.

The participants discussed Poland’s experience in reintegrating citizens after migration waves, opportunities for developing dual-degree programs, and academic mobility. The Consul General praised the University’s remarkable achievements and expressed hope that Ukraine would walk the path of recovery with the same energy and determination with which Poland once brought back its citizens and strengthened its economy.

Particular attention was given to the University’s cooperation with Polish partners — including the Universities of Warsaw, Poznań, Gdańsk, and others — as well as to the educational programs in Polish language and literature offered by the School of Philology.

Mr. Dawid Tomaszewski highly appreciated Karazin University’s active role in the international academic community and supported the idea of holding meetings with students and faculty members:

“Every such visit is a step toward deepening our shared history, science, and friendship,” — the diplomat noted.
