Second Cohort of Teachers and Educators Begins Training at Karazin University

On September 26, 2025, the second cohort of teachers and lecturers from gymnasiums, lyceums, and professional colleges of the Industrialnyi, Saltivskyi, Kholodnohirskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts of Kharkiv, the Municipal Institution “Kharkiv Humanitarian and Pedagogics Academy” of the Kharkiv Regional Council, city and settlement councils of Berestynskyi and Kharkiv districts of Kharkiv region, as well as from Kyiv, Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi (Cherkasy region), and Sievierodonetsk (Luhansk region, evacuated) began their training at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.
The educational process in English language, Ukrainian language and literature, primary education, educational psychology, pedagogical and organizational work, extracurricular activities, computer and computational technologies, and integrated courses “STEM Education” and “Art. Music Art” will be provided by leading academic and teaching staff of the Institute of Computer Sciences and Artificial Intelligence and the School of Philology. They have significant experience in innovative work and practical developments on relevant issues of organizing in-class and extracurricular activities in institutions of basic, complete general secondary, and professional pre-higher education.
To strengthen the practical component of professional development, highlight the specifics of organizing and conducting educational and extracurricular processes with learners at the appropriate levels under the New Ukrainian School programs (grades 1–8) in a blended format, apply formative assessment principles and complex group-based evaluation, prepare senior school graduates for the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) 2026, and create a psychologically supportive educational environment, external partners are actively involved. These include highly qualified teacher-trainers, an educational organizer, and a practical psychologist from the Municipal Institutions “Kharkiv Gymnasium No. 77,” “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 28,” “Kharkiv Lyceum No. 51,” and “Kharkiv Inclusive Resource Center No. 1” of the Kharkiv City Council.
During the first class, Mykhailo Tatarynov, Director of the Institute of Continuing Education, familiarized participants with the legal framework and specific conditions of the training, conducted a safety briefing on protecting life and health in wartime conditions, and answered participants’ pressing questions. The memory of Ukrainians who died as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war was honored.
The professional development courses will continue until October 10 and October 17, 2025, in accordance with the class schedules and the number of hours and credits chosen by the participants.
