Associate Professor of the Department of Eastern European History Pavlo Yeremieiev took part in the international conference “Metaphors of Religion: Comparative Perspectives, Theoretical Potential, and Methodic Innovation,” held on October 27–29, 2025, at Ruhr University Bochum (Germany). The conference was dedicated to interdisciplinary approaches to studying the role of metaphors in religious language, culture, and intellectual history.

During the conference, Pavlo Yeremieiev presented a paper titled “Anthropomorphic Metaphors in Orthodox Church Historiography of Eastern Europe (19th–Early 20th Century).” His presentation explored how shifts in intellectual paradigms, ethnonational projects, and the personal emotional engagement of historians influenced the specificity of anthropomorphic metaphors in Orthodox church historiography of the “long” 19th century.
