
Associate Professor of the Faculty of History Yevhen Zakharchenko Participated in the Summer Program “New Perspectives on Holocaust Studies and Teaching in Ukraine and Romania”
On July 7–11, 2025, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian History at the School of History, Yevhen Zakharchenko, took part in the summer program “New Perspectives on Holocaust Studies and Teaching in Ukraine and Romania.” The program was organized by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in cooperation with Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași and the Elie Wiesel National Institute for the Study of the Holocaust in Romania.
The program featured lectures by leading Holocaust scholars from the United States and Romania, as well as presentations and discussions of research projects and teaching courses by participants from Ukraine.
Yevhen Zakharchenko delivered a presentation on the Ukrainian-Polish project “I Survived the Nazis, I Will Survive the Rashists: World War II and the Holocaust in the Ukrainian Discourse of the Russian-Ukrainian War” (a project carried out in collaboration with Dr. Paweł Dobrosielski of the Institute of Polish Culture, University of Warsaw, supported by the “For Ukraine!” program of the Foundation for Polish Science).
